Hooray, STICKY Ideas & Advertising is expanding! We're over the moon to welcome Mr Jake F A Bevan Esquire, as our brand new in-house Video Producer. As we couldn't cover his desk in balloons and glitter, make him a coffee, or even give him a high-five, we made him feel at home by interrogating him over zoom.
So, here are five little facts we've since found out ...
1. He's a well-travelled cosmopolitan type.
Jake spent the first eight years of his life living in Germany and two further years living in Brunei. Living in Brunei meant he and his family had lots of cultural holidays in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Bali, Singapore - the list just goes on. Jake's looking forward to a trip to anywhere outside the front door this year.
2. Filmaking runs in the family.
Jake's passion for filmmaking started when he used to watch his Dad edit family holiday videos and create a DVD from the footage. There was nothing more exciting than seeing things move around the timeline within the software then adding funny text and music whenever Jake and his brother did something silly! For example:
3. His music depends on his mood.
When we asked Jake what his Spotify playlist for the office will be when we get back in he said it totally depends on his mood because his music taste is, in his words, completely out of control. So we stalked him on Spotify and it seems he was telling the truth, with a playlist for Elton John and another for Eminem. We cannae wait tae turn it up!
4. He's cagey when it comes to film. And we don't mean Nicholas Cagey.
Despite having studied film and media for five years, you won't get a straight answer when you ask Jake what his favourite film is. He likes to think his preferred examples are those reflecting great editing technique as opposed to a good story or a classic. Therefore, any film directed by Edgar Wright will always satisfy his inner editor! We might have to up our 'did you see Die Hard last night?' chat.
5. As a natural athlete he's gonna fit right in.
Jake's surrounded by family who love keeping active, so he's always been involved in some kind of sport. He took up athletics when he was younger and although he no longer competes competitively, he still like to hit the streets or the beach for fun (yes, fun!).
